PROGRAM FOR WaPac MINISTERIAL STUDENT RALLY

This is an open event. If you are interested in Christian Ministry, please join us.  Everyone should bring a food item to share at the potluck lunch and your own drink. If you drive, please park on the back side (West) of the church and come in the lower door into the downstairs fellowship hall where we will gather at first and then for lunch.

10:00 a.m. Arriving, foods to frig, name tags, preparing for games

10:15 a.m. Follow-the-Leader upstairs to rehearsal for the Treasure Hunt

10:30 – 11:30 a.m.  Treasure Hunt (indoors)

11:30 – 12:15  Worship in Sanctuary with Rev. Terry Mattson

12:15 – 1:30  Lunch, trading recipes, Amazing Moment Game

1:30 – 2:00 Starburst Prayer Walk – 4 points from the church building

2:00 p.m. Let’s talk business – planning for your ministry preparation; upstairs in

     Kaleidoscope Classroom; Pat Crane, Margaret Scott

3:00 p.m. Closing prayer

Upcoming Student Rally at Kaleidoscope

Greetings!

As Missionaries-in-Residence on Washington Pacific District, we are planning a Student Rally for all on our district who are in ministry training OR already in ministry and not yet trained. It will be held at Kaleidoscope, a gathering place for multi-cultural learning that is part of West Seattle Church of the Nazarene (4201 SW Juneau St., Seattle 98136). It will be a time for you to get to know others on the district who are already in ministry and/or in preparation preparation for ministry.

The date was originally earlier in September, but there was a conflict with another big event so it is now Saturday, September 29^th at the West Seattle Church. The program will be from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will include games, prayer, planning, lectures, and of course some table fellowship at lunchtime. We will have coffee, tea, ice, cookies and paper products and plasticware. Please bring a favorite salad or sandwiches or a little of both and your favorite cold drink. We'll probably trade receipes -- that's part of the fun.

The date of our rally now falls within the unique month-long Seattle-wide initiative called "The Compassion Games." We're researching the possibility of one of our activities of the Student Rally connecting with this initiative. We may try to register Kaleidoscope as a partner in this initiative. Surely compassion is a value we all uphold and esteem! Kaleidoscope is registered as a Nazarene Compassion Ministry Center! You can follow our progress on our Facebook page “Kaleidoscope, a gathering place for multicultural learning”. We need to do a website for Kaleidoscope, but haven’t had the time (or funds) yet!

The library actually looks pretty nice, but the books are not yet recorded so we can't lend yet, hence the work days to write off or type into the computer the titles & authors. 

If you are close to us in West Seattle, maybe you would like to volunteer a couple of hours in the organization of the library. These are the next times we are going to work on it:

-- Wed., Sept. 5th from 2:00 through to 6:30 p.m. 

-- Saturday, the 8th, from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m;

-- Saturday, the 22nd: there will be a longer work period to be announced later. to get the library ready for the Student Rally on the 29th. Hopefully, by then, we can have it open to the community, too.

The 22nd is during Seattle's Compassion Games, so...we may be doing something extra to compete in them towards being "the survival of the kindest"! Stand by for details.
